Acupuncture is an effective and holistic health care system that offers a safe, painless and effective approach to getting and staying well. The goal of acupuncture is to activate the natural, self-healing abilities of your body and restore it back to normal functioning. This is usually done by stimulating specific acupuncture points through the insertion of fine, sterile acupuncture needles into the skin.
Acupuncture is part of a broad system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been used for centuries to treat millions of people around the world. Other techniques, such as moxibustion, cupping, electrical stimulation and herbal medicines, can further enhance the effects of an acupuncture treatment.
Acupuncture is used to prevent illness, promote healing and address a wide range of health concerns. It has proven very effective in relieving pain and discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin to activate stimulate specific acupuncture points. A proven modality that treats the whole person and relieves the symptoms while addressing the underlying causes, acupuncture activates your body’s own natural self-healing abilities to help restore a healthy balance.
E-Stim Acupuncture uses electricity to enhance the benefits of a traditional acupuncture treatment plan. A small electrode is attached to some of the acupuncture needles to further activate your acupuncture points. E-Stim Acupuncture can be particularly useful in the treatment of certain types of pain, neuropathies and connective tissue disorders.
Microneedling harnesses your body's ability to produce collagen and elastin as a natural healing response to the micro-traumas caused by our professional-level device. Microneedling is used on the face, neck, chest and hands for wrinkles, acne, dark spots, age spots, sun damage and results in visibly younger skin and complexion.
Moxibustion is a form of therapy that entails the burning of Moxa, an herb called Mugwort, to enhance healing, Mugwort leaves are dried and ground into small sticks or cones called moxa (similar to incense), which are then lighted and used to warm points on your body and relieve a variety of conditions. Moxibustion is often used with acupuncture to add energy to the body, improve Qi flow, and to stimulate acupoints.
Cupping is done using glass or plastic cups in which a vacuum is created to induce suction on the skin over specific acupoints or in an affected area. This suction helps pull up stagnant fluids and Qi, allowing your body to more easily transport them away, and stimulates new blood flow to the area.
GuaSha is an East Asian healing technique used in many countries. Gua means to rub or scrape. Sha refers to the reddish dots or petechiae that is raised by the rubbing. This is the stagnant blood that lies subcutaneously causing chronic or acute pain. GuaSha is used to help blood flow, create a “lifting” effect on your skin, lessen toxins in your body and promote healing.
The beginnings of Chinese Herbal Medicine extend back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). Therapeutic categories include digestives, materials that improve circulation, nervous system calming agents, antimicrobials, and more. Medicinals are derived from plant, animal, and mineral sources.
Stress responses can negatively affect us long after the triggering event. NET acknowledges the relationship between the body’s stress, environmental toxicity, nutritional balance and structural integrity, and is a safe and natural way to identify and provide relief from mind-body stress patterns that have led to emotional and physical issues.
Nutrition from a TCM perspective is based on the energetic principles of foods, which can be characterized as damp, cold, or hot-natured. When you know the energetic nature of a food, you have the power to create a diet that leads to good digestion, more balance, and healthy function. Because your energetic needs are specific to you, nutritional therapy can help you identify your best mix of foods to achieve balance and create the foundation for healthy living.
During Life Coaching, a certified coach leads a client on a journey to create a more intentional, rewarding life.
