Pain Management

Opiates and other pain management drugs are addictive and can deteriorate otherwise healthy organs, such as the heart, liver, kidneys, and more. For thousands of years, alternative medicine has been used to effectively treat pain and address the underlying issues.

Types of Treatment

A proven modality that treats the whole person and relieves the symptoms while addressing the underlying causes. Acupuncture activates your body’s own natural self-healing abilities to help restore a healthy balance.

Herbal Medicine

The beginnings of Chinese Herbal Medicine extend back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). Therapeutic categories include digestives, materials that improve circulation, nervous system calming agents, antimicrobials, and more. Medicinals are derived from plant, animal, and mineral sources.

Cupping is done using glass or plastic cups in which a vacuum is created to induce suction on the skin over specific acupoints or in an affected area. This suction helps pull up stagnant fluids and Qi, allowing your body to more easily transport them away, and stimulates new blood flow to the area.

Moxibustion and GuaSha

Moxibustion is the burning of Moxa, an herb called Mugwort. It is used to add energy to the body, improve Qi flow, and stimulate acupoints. GuaSha is an East Asian healing technique used in many countries. Gua means to rub or scrape. Sha refers to the reddish dots or petechiae that is raised by the rubbing. This is the stagnant blood that lies subcutaneously causing chronic or acute pain.

Acupoint Injection Therapy

Acupuncture Point Injection, or Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT), is an integrative therapy combining conventional and homeopathic medicine with Acupuncture. An AIT certified Acupuncture Physician injects sterile substances such as vitamins, herbs, or homeopathic remedies into acupuncture points specific to your needs, chosen to provide maximum benefit to you body.

Life Coaching

During Life Coaching, a certified coach leads a client on a journey to create a more intentional, rewarding life. Unlike counseling, the focus is on helping the client identify his or her own goals, make decisions, and take action to affect change. The coach supports the client by using techniques such as questions, active listening, and feedback.

Wellstream Healing and Acupuncture

I experienced Sarina as an acupuncturist in her last two years at ATOM as a student.  From the beginning we had an easy rapport.

I came to ATOM on a regular basis for some chronic pain associated with past hernia surgeries, back problems, and headaches.  During the two odd years when I was treated on a regular basis I had marked improvement in pain and throughout the time was always impressed with Sarina's skill, dedication, and concern for my welfare.

I felt comfortable talking with her about feelings and circumstances in my life which related to my physical challenges. Our sessions were therapeutic for me far beyond the acupuncture itself.

Sarina is a woman of extraordinary gifts for healing with a warm and loving outlook on life which makes her a delightful practitioner of the ancient healing art of acupuncture.  We developed a friendship subsequently of mutual support and admiration.

I am delighted to recommend Sarina with the highest degree of enthusiasm and with no reservations whatsoever.  She is a wonderful gift to the community of acupuncture healers.

I had been dealing with some pain, stiffness, numbness in my feet, and some problems with intermittent anxiety for about two years.

Sarina is professional and thorough, pays close attention to detail, takes complaints seriously, is compassionate and is knowledgeable. She goes into depth with taking a history, explains the reasons for various treatments, and is wonderful with regular follow-up checks on how I'm doing.

Under Sarina’s care, I experienced immediate results with reduced anxiety and pain, had a better range of motion, and stiffness was reduced significantly. The numbness in my feet remains, but along with the stiffness, has been reduced markedly.

The therapies included Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Auricular Therapy, and Acupressure. They have been a tremendously positive influence in my life. I feel healthier and stronger, have more energy, and my physical fitness throughout the day and during exercise is better.

I give my highest recommendation to working with Sarina. I'm a Doctoral Level Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist and have worked in rehabilitation settings for over 20 years. I know a consummate professional when I meet one, and Sarina is definitely that.
